Welcome to your adventure! Today, you'll arrive at our base camp near the picturesque Lake George, CO. As you settle in, take a moment to soak in the serene surroundings and prepare your bike for tomorrow's journey. In the evening, we'll gather around a crackling campfire for a shared meal, exchanging stories and fine-tuning our bike setups. This first night under the stars sets the tone for the adventure ahead, offering a perfect blend of camaraderie and anticipation for the days to come.

Saturday: Ride to Eleven Mile Reservoir (7 am - 9 pm)

Rise and shine! We'll start the day with a quick breakfast before packing up and hitting the road. The adventure begins with an 8.5-mile climb on pavement, leading us to the stunning Eleven Mile Reservoir, where the South Platte River begins. Along the way, we'll pause at one of Colorado's historic general stores, a charming glimpse into the past. Circling the reservoir, we'll reach our campsite, ready to unwind with some camp hangs, birding, and stargazing under the pristine night sky.

Sunday: Departure Day (7 am - 3 pm)

After breakfast, we'll pack up and set out on a punchy gravel road, descending into the breathtaking 11-Mile Canyon. As we navigate this scenic and historic route, we'll take a leisurely break by the river to relax and enjoy the tranquil environment. Following this peaceful interlude, we'll continue our journey back to our cars, carrying memories of an unforgettable bikepacking adventure in Eleven Mile State Park.

Who is Travl Wide?

Travl Wide is a bikepacking guiding company offering inclusive education, leadership, and adventure. Their experiences are designed to develop the emotional, leadership, and technical skills to be successful in the outdoors. Travl Wide is partnering with Camping To Connect to offer a memorable and adventurous experience that aim at fostering community and bringing our network of brothers, sisters, and allies together.

What should I pack for a 3-day bikepacking trip?

Before the trip, you will receive a detailed packing list, but essentials include: - Bike and helmet - Bikepacking bags *bikepacking bags are provided - Clothing for layering - Puffy, Mid-Layer (Fleece/Hoodie) - Rain gear - Sturdy shoes - Personal hygiene items - Water bottles or hydration system

What gear and support are provided?

We provide bikepacking bags (limited availability), day packs, tents, sleeping bags and pads, and a bowl and utensil set. Our support team will assist with setting up camp and ensuring you have everything you need for a comfortable trip.

Is there a suggested donation for the trip?

While there is no mandatory cost, we suggest a donation of $50 to help cover communal meals and other shared expenses. All proceeds will go to our beneficiary non-profit, Camping To Connect.

What meals are provided during the trip?

We provide 2 group meals, Fri and Sat dinners. Expect hearty, nutritious meals including options like pasta, grilled veggies, and various protein options. We'll also accommodate dietary restrictions as best as possible. Breakfast and Lunch will be on each participant to provide for themselves.

Is this trip suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! This trip is designed for both seasoned and aspiring bikepackers. It's inclusive and perfect for beginner to intermediate riders who are looking for a supportive and adventurous experience. Experience riding a bike on various surfaces is strongly recommended.

What is the protocol in the event of a medical emergency?

Our trip leaders are trained in wilderness first aid and CPR. In case of a medical emergency, we have a plan to ensure prompt and appropriate care, including access to emergency personnel and services if needed.

What sleep gear do you provide?

We provide tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads. If you have your own preferred gear, feel free to bring it.

Where do we use the restroom?

Each night at our campsite we’ll have access to a pit toilet.

Can I bring additional bags?

Yes, but space is limited in our support and gear (SAG) vehicle. We recommend bringing only one additional bag for comfort items e.g. pillow, books, etc. Things that don’t fit the best on the bike…
